Knowing when you need water main repair or water main replacement can be difficult. Since your water main is located under your home, you may not think about it very often. Here are some telltale signs you’re in need of repair or replacement: WET LAWN: Soggy spots or puddles on your lawn or in your backyard are an indication that you have a water line issue. When your water main leaks, it soaks the earth leaving huge puddles all over your lawn. If you can’t find a cause for these puddles, it’s likely a water main issue. DISCOLORED WATER: If you’re noticing discoloration or rust when you turn on your taps and faucets, it could mean that your water line is beginning to corrode or that dirt and debris are finding their way into your water main. LOW WATER PRESSURE: Low water pressure could mean a variety of issues. However, a sudden drop in pressure can mean that your water main has sprung a leak or has cracked causing water pressure to escape.
