No Heat in the House? Here’s What to Check For!

In most cases, if your heating unit stops working properly, you will need to call an expert to come take a look. However, there are a few different things you can check on your own to be sure that there is actually an issue with the system.

Here’s what to check for:
  • Check the thermostat to make sure it is set high enough that the system will be triggered to turn on
  • Check that the power switch for the heating unit is switched on
  • Check the fuel source for your heating system:
    • For natural gas: make sure the gas line is open
    • For oil: double-check the levels in your tank
    • For electricity: check for blown fuses

If none of the above work, there is one last thing you can try. Almost all heating systems have some kind of reset switch located somewhere on the unit itself. Before resetting the system, make sure that you read the directions carefully.

If you have tried all of the tips and tricks listed above and you are still having issues with your heating system, it is time to call a professional.

Cellino Plumbing, Heating & Cooling provides the solutions you need! We will get to the source of the heating system issue and present you with an accurate solution. Give us a call today!
